Classroom Activities for Latinx Heritage Month and Beyond

The United States alone has over 60 million people who identify as Hispanic and/or Latino, according to the 2021 U.S. Census. That’s equivalent to nearly one fifth of the U.S. population. These numbers underscores why it’s so important for educators to how important it is to build an inclusive classroom where diverse histories, experiences, and cultures are taught, engaged with, and respected. During Hispanic Heritage Month (also referred to as National Hispanic American Heritage Month), there’s also a timely opportunity to take the learning one step further.
