Viral TikTok: Parents Create ‘Period Board’ For Daughters

Fancy food boards are all the rage right now, especially with Thanksgiving right around the corner. Charcuterie boards have been steadily gaining popularity for years now, but more recently, the internet has been dominated by more creative versions like butter boards and even kid-friendly peanut butter boards. But it’s time for them to all move over because there’s a new superior board in town: the period board.

It’s the brainchild of parents Tifany Allen-Ciota, 52 and Michael Ciota, 62, who share two daughters together, 30-year-old Brooke and 18-year-old Courtney. The couple posted a video on TikTok showing off the period board they created for their daughters, and it’s rightfully going super viral.

In the video, we get a clear shot of the board, which includes everything a menstruating person might need during that time of the month: pads and tampons, a heating pad, and all the candy and junk food your heart desires, including chocolate bars and a variety of salty, crunchy snacks.

“Your teenage daughter comes home and she’s emotional because it’s that time of the month, you want to meet her at the door with the Aleve and maybe some tissues,” Allen-Ciota says in the video. “She might just be raging but you never know.”

When girls learn about puberty before it happens, they face body changes with greater confidence and even excitement. If she is between 8 and 11 years old, it’s a perfect time to start. This course will prepare her for what’s ahead, and help YOU become her most trusted influencer when it comes to her changing body

As much as periods suck (especially for teens), show me a menstruating person who wouldn’t be thrilled to be greeted by an array of comfort items and junk food. As Allen-Ciota says in the video about what to choose to put on your board, “Whatever’s unreasonable is totally reasonable.”

Michael isn’t the first dad who may not understand what his daughters are going through, but still wants to help regardless. Recently, one dad went viral on TikTok for buying his daughter some “pads with wings.” Sounds pretty run-of-the-mill, right? Right, until you realize he has a completely different idea for what “wings” mean, and it becomes adorably hilarious.

Unsurprisingly, people in the comments are loving the idea of a period board, with many of them singing these parents’ praises. We particularly agree with one comment: “Will you adopt me????😂😂😁”
